This project is a collection of beats made from 2010 and further back. Around this time I was working with the Ensoniq EPS 16 plus and starting to learn reason. Putting this project together was a walk down memory lane for me. I wanted to drop something to celebrate a great year, and this was the proper way for me. There is something really special about this album. It's refreshing and different in the best of ways. sndtrk's sample selection is varied and eclectic and while the arrangements are minimal, it doesn't sound like it. The drums are abrasive and unpredictable and just a joy to listen to. The overall production is gritty but slick - such a lovely contradiction. This feels like "nu-boom bap", if there was such a thing? Underrated! Paul WH
