The title of this album came from back in the day when I used to run to the store for an old head on our block. He would tell me to get him a pack of Kool Filtered Kings, being as young as I was I didn’t know what he was saying so I would always ask “Cool Fit The Kings”. For some reason that always stuck with me and I thought it was hilarious. Now when I think about it, it makes sense to me. You can’t be a good “king” making decisions out of emotions or desperation. A good King thinks things through with a clear head before making decisions. A good King knows his decisions effect other people so they move accordingly. It takes a cool head to take risks and plans in caution simultaneously. I titled the album this because my head was in a space where I was uncomfortable but I realized I had people depending on me to do the right thing. For me creating this project was therapy. An enormous thanks to my beautiful wife @quietriot585 for the continuous support. This beat off the project was inspired by an interview with Kareem Biggs Burke.
